Pandit Shri. Ratnakar Gokhale is an accomplished Hindustani classical violinist residing in Pune, India.
Shri. Gokhale has done an exhaustive study on the violin as an instrument and its various styles of playing. Having done a deep and penetrating research on the origin and history of the violin, he has read several research papers on 'Development of Violin in Indian Music' at N.C.P.A. Mumbai, University of Pune and M.S. University, Baroda.
He has also conducted several lecture cum demonstration sessions on the violin - at the faculty of Music & Fine Arts, University of Pune, M.S. University, Baroda as well as Maharaja College, Viyajanagaram.
Pt. Gokhale has received the 'Sur Mani' award from Sur Saingar Samsad, Mumbai and the 'Sangatkar' award by Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Pune in 2009.
